My story

Fourteen years ago, after some time in the Wheatbelt and the North West, my husband Andrew and I, our two little girls and our son on the way, returned to the South West and settled on living in Beautiful Bridgetown. Knowing we had arrived in our forever town and home, we bought a property along the Blackwood River that needed some love. As our family grew so to did our garden, home renovations and our connection to this serene place.

Along with some Primary School teaching, Andrew’s gardening , agricultural back ground and work, we threw ourselves into the community, volunteer roles, and raising our family. Ever the searcher of creative pursuits I continued making natural soap, painting and sewing. After a few years of selling clothing and homewares at local and Perth markets, eventually with three other local artisans, I helped to establish and open Loft - a local shop filled with beautiful handmade products. During my time at Loft, I met very clever creatives including Linda, a local lady, with a floristry and aromatherapy background, who grew a field of flowers on her property. Her organic blooms would arrive and leave Loft in a matter of moments, along with the smiles on our customers faces.

Creativity and the arts has been my forever love and constant companion all of my life. My love affair with Monet, his paintings of the Nymphaea's and his garden at Giverny began many years ago while studying art and somewhere unexplainable is a place that resides in me that can only be reached when I’m surrounded by art and flowers. Monsieur Monet knew what he was doing and was known for his unapologetic commitment to his craft and ability to sit amongst his garden, plein air and paint flowers, endlessly. In early 2025 I decided it was time to be amongst flowers in a way I had always needed. Universally, Linda’s organic flower patch and business - Earth Blooms - became available to meet a new owner and lover of all things gloriously floral. So, with my creative daughters, my gardening husband, my handy son and Monet’s little voice in my head, Earth Blooms found us. A sustainable Micro Flower Farm full of seasonal blooms and a gorgeous flower shed became our new place to ponder, dream, snip, dig and create in. Earth Blooms Bridgetown was the creative dream turned into reality of one lover of flowers, passed onto the next.

Come take a turn about the garden with us and let’s enjoy (and paint) and smell the flowers together - Emily - Earth Blooms x

A little bit of history from Linda, Earth Blooms original creator and her drive to create the vision of the Earth Blooms organic picking garden.

“I was going to make my farm sustainable, seasonal and to grow organically without any pesticides or artificial fertilisers".

“We are in our eighth season of growing, the farm bursts with life - birds, bees, butterflies and beneficial insects are all helping to sustain healthy rows of annuals, perennials, David Austin roses, Heritage Chrysanthemums, and much more (with as many fragrant flowers and foliage as I can possibly include!)

“My favourite part of being a Farmer Florist is seeing the look on my customer’s faces as they bury their noses into the freshly picked bunches, and I watch their faces light up as they take in the wide variety and healthy beauty of the blooms. That’s the moment that I realise I’ve found the joy in the flowers again- and its not just for me.”

Linda made this garden with the most beautiful of intentions to show and share with others how an organically grown and sustainable flower garden is possible in the floristry world and I am privileged to continue her incredible work and continue to share a love and spread the joy of flowers and fragrance with you!

“Wow! The flowers Linda created for our elopement were just incredible! I could not stop looking at them - such a beautiful combination she put together, even more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Thank you so much for creating this for us, it made our wedding photos so special having those amazing colours. They just popped!”
